Dr Mara Kotrotsou

Dr Mara Kotrotsou qualified in medicine from Charles University in Prague in 1998. After an early clinical experience in paediatric surgery at Aghia Sophia Children's Hospital, she moved to the UK to specialise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, holding Senior House Officer posts at Luton and Dunstable Hospital, Hinchingbrooke Hospital, and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. She completed specialist registrar training through the Oxford Deanery and the Eastern Deanery rotation, including Addenbrooke's University Hospital, and gained further qualifications in family planning, obstetric ultrasound, and colposcopy.

Dr Kotrotsou began her career in reproductive medicine in 2010 as a Clinical Fellow at IVF Hammersmith, Imperial College Healthcare. She went on to work as a Consultant Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist at Bourn Hall Fertility Clinic, Clinical Lead at CREATE Fertility, and Consultant at CARE Fertility and Kings Fertility. Since 2024, she has practised as a Consultant in Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine through LCRH Fertility. Her expertise covers the full range of assisted conception treatment regimes, with a special interest in low ovarian reserve and recurrent treatment failure. She also works in menopause care and women's wellbeing, and founded NIA Women's Wellness in 2025.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Kotrotsou has built a career in healthcare innovation. She completed an MBA with Merit at Imperial College Business School, served as Chief Medical Officer at Apricity from 2019 to 2021, and co-founded Fourie Medical, which developed AI-driven software for healthcare automation. She sat on the Clinical Advisory Board of AngelMD and has been an Assessor for the NHS Innovation Accelerator since 2024. She has served as a British Fertility Society certified trainer in pelvic ultrasound, embryo transfer, and IUI, and has published on preimplantation genetic diagnosis, elective single embryo transfer, tubal surgery, and natural and modified natural IVF cycles. She has been a member of the British Fertility Society, ESHRE, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the British Menopause Society, and the North American Menopause Society.
